Message from the President: April, 2025

Have you been told today that you are seen, heard, loved and valuable? If yes, that is wonderful and you ARE! If not, let me be the first to share that with you today. In the race for superiority in the world today, it is so easy to step on others and invalidate them so that we can get ahead. But that is not the case with our Kinship family and community. We exist solely because of YOU and validating your existence just as you are.

You are seen, heard and loved beyond measure. Don't allow anyone to take that away from you. SDA Kinship strives to raise awareness to protect you and to help our church and families better understand our diverse and wonderful community. You are perfectly complete just as you are.

This month we have several exciting announcements and reveals to share. Our long awaited website is getting the final finishing touches and will go live in just a few days. EXCITING! As technology grows, it is important for Kinship to keep up and be attractive and reach the folks who need to hear that we exist, to continue to build a safe community and provide resources to those who are looking for them. Our social media outreach must be cutting edge which means finding the talent to stay a step ahead of those who want to silence us. If you have a knack for social media and graphics/writing, please consider working with us to accomplish our goals.

We are ready to officially announce our Kampmeeting 2025 plans by releasing the registration form. We are back to doing a summer event and that is not far off in the calendar, I encourage you to register ASAP and take advantage of the really low SUPER Early Bird pricing. Also, I love not spending money needlessly. All of our Kinship board and leaders are volunteers and we pour our heart and souls into making Kinship a safe community that makes a difference for current and former Adventists who are LGBTQIA+ or allies who have queer family members or friends. Your faithful donations pay for the monthly programming, social media costs, outreach initiatives, etc and it always pained me to see the fees being subtracted from our donations to fund the donation platforms. Well, that is a thing of the past! We have moved to ZEFFY which is a donation platform for nonprofits. It allows us to receive 100% of your donation. It has an optional box for you to support them if you'd like, but that is totally optional. I'm already seeing the savings each month and I'm so excited for that. I'm someone who sees a penny on the ground and I'll pick it up and put it in my pocket and this is like finding dollars to put back into Kinship's available fund accounts. So a big thanks to all of you who are already donating and sending regular offerings to Kinship. They will go even further now. Whether you can spare $5.00 a month or $50+ a month your regular donation is appreciated (and tax deductible in the US).
