Happy Sabbath around the world! I’m sure many of you noticed that you had not received an eNews eMail from Kinship this month. After Kinship’s Kampmeeting earlier this month, the Kinship Board has been busy catching up on tasks and to-do’s created at the meeting in Baltimore. We will be sharing more about Kampmeeting in the next eNews mailing.
I will just quickly say that Kinship Kampmeeting #47 was a wonderful time and that it felt good to meet up with so many of our Kinship family. I don’t know if it was the location, the attendees, the food, the speakers, the music, the fellowship, or the combination of all of these but it was definitely memorable. I left, not wanting to say good-bye to all the friends who were there.
I reconnected with friends from my very first Kampmeeting over 35 years ago and made new friends who were at Kampmeeting for the very first time. From the feedback I have heard, it was overwhelmingly an affirming and uplifting experience.
We will officially be announcing next year’s Kampmeeting in the next issue of the eNews so stay tuned and start planning now to join us for this Kinship family gathering. Yes, Kinship is a community of LGBTIQA+Allies who are mostly current and former Seventh-day Adventists, but we are more than just that. We are a family.
A family that cares about you. If you haven’t taken steps to get more involved with Kinship, I invite you to do so. Join our community groups and share your thoughts, your needs, your dreams with the other Kinship family members in the groups.
Let’s build together,
Floyd
