Dear Kinship Family,
August is already off to a wonderful start!
We began the month with Kinship’s 46th Annual Kampmeeting in Riverside, California. What a joy it was to reconnect with longtime Kinship friends and welcome new ones into the family. On Sabbath alone, more than 65 of us worshipped together and experienced the power of in-person community. Many sessions were recorded, and we’ll share those links with you once they are organized.
I’m thrilled to announce that Kinship Kampmeeting #47 will be held July 7–12, 2026, at the Bon Secours Conference Center in Marriottsville, Maryland. We hope to see you there!
Moving Forward Together
Like many organizations, COVID slowed down some of our normal routines, including elections. This fall, we are resuming that process with a simpler approach. We know Kinship is full of people with the gifts and passion to lead. Serving as a Kinship leader is an opportunity to help shape our community’s future and live out our vision and mission.
In the coming weeks, watch for announcements and Zoom sessions about what positions are open and how you can get involved. Together, we can build a strong leadership team for the future.

Our Mission & Safe Community
Our current mission and vision are outlined on the new Kinship website. SDA Kinship is, and always will be, a safe and affirming community for LGBTQIA+ current and former Adventists.
Being part of Kinship is a privilege, and we want members who will help build up this global community—not create conflict or harm. If you ever experience harassment or feel unsafe in a Kinship space (online or in-person), please report it to a leader or board member so we can address it immediately. Your safety matters most.
As we move through August, remember this: You are not alone. You are loved and affirmed—exactly as you are.
With love and gratitude,
— Floyd Poenitz
