Kinship Kampmeeting is just “Around the Corner”

Around the corner” How often does that thought cross your mind? Maybe your favorite restaurant is “just around the corner,” and you’re pulling into its parking lot. Carolyn and I are often eager to enjoy our “around the corner” moments. We have a favorite Mexican restaurant with special deep country Mexican food. Then “around their corner” is our favorite gelato place. We also look forward to being “around the corner” when we travel to favorite beaches, waterfalls, and restaurants.

Another one of our favorite “around the corner” events is only a few weeks away—Kinship Kampmeeting. It’s one of our favorites because we connect with dear friends we haven’t seen in person for a long time. It is a favorite because special speakers share new and valuable information, ideas, and suggestions to help us live our lives better and support rainbow families as they travel their own roads of life. We humans need to connect in person with other humans. We do need special places “around the corner” where we can be ourselves with our dear Kinship friends who enjoy and benefit by being together in person.

At the end of July we will gather in Riverside, California. Visit Kampmeeting.com for details. Come “around the corner” and join us for several days of valuable presentations, meals, and meaningful time together. Thursday and Friday we’ll gain new insights and information from professional speakers who will share about understanding challenges with faith; their personal journeys and professional experiences in their own lives; some time to meet local faith members who seek to provide meaningful support to all rainbow members and their families; and a special time with an author sharing his understanding and focus on “understanding friendships.” In between these presentations we will all have the time to chat with the presenters and each other as we grow and mature in our own thoughts, feelings, and needs.

Friday evening we will gather at Sierra Chapel on the campus of the La Sierra University Church for dinner and communion. On Sabbath after a meaningful service and lunch we will explore “Dealing with Trauma. Sabbath evening will end with a viewing of the film Mama Bears, about how women gathered to support their trans children. That will be followed by a happy and energetic talent program.

Don’t miss this “around the corner” gathering. You and your family’s participation will enhance Kampmeeting.

For accommodations, visit Kampmeeting.com or contact Hampton Inn & Suites (951-352-5020) for special Kampmeeting rates. If you live nearby, we’d love to connect and spend time with you. Carolyn and I look forward to getting together with all our Kinship members and their families.

It’s “just around the corner,” Come on over!
