JustLove Collective Releases 2026 Voting Guide With LGBTQ+ Dignity at Its Core

As the 2026 election season unfolds, JustLove Collective has released a new Voting Guide aimed at helping people of faith approach the ballot box through the lenses of justice, compassion, truth, and human dignity.

The guide makes clear that its approach is not about loyalty to a political party or candidate. Instead, JustLove says faith should shape how Seventh-day Adventist Christians think about the systems, laws, and public policies that affect people’s lives, especially those who have historically been pushed to the margins. Its stated values include justice, mercy, freedom, inclusion, and love.

For LGBTQ+ readers, one of the guide’s clearest commitments appears in its Public Policy Principles. JustLove states that LGBTQ+ people should be able to live free from violence, harassment, exclusion, and discrimination. It supports safe and inclusive communities, along with public policies that recognize LGBTQ+ dignity and protect LGBTQ+ civil rights.

That commitment sits within a broader principle of equal treatment. The guide argues that a just society should make room for people across differences including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, economic circumstances, and background.

The guide also asks Adventists to consider much more than party affiliation when voting. Its articles challenge readers to examine how candidates use power, whether they value truth, who may be harmed by their policies, whether leaders consider themselves subject to the law, and whether leadership is rooted in service or self-interest.

Another section urges voters not to vote solely according to their own interests. It specifically says that concern for people on society’s margins should extend regardless of “age, race, beliefs, wealth, nationality, or orientation.”

For LGBTQ+ people who have often heard faith used as a reason to exclude them from public life, the guide offers a notably different starting point. Religious liberty is affirmed, but so is the equal dignity of others. JustLove supports freedom to practice, change, question, or reject faith, while opposing the use of government power to privilege religious belief over the rights of others.

The guide does not tell readers which candidate or party deserves their vote. Its closing public-policy question is broader: “What does justice require, what does love require, and how can we act?”

For SDA Kinship members who are voters and allies, that may be one of the most important questions to carry into the voting booth.
