Enjoy a meaningful February

Many of us consider February as that short end of winter month between January and March the beginning of spring. It may be the shortest month but take a look at it’s many meaningful details. In reality it’s roman name roots, it’s unique and colorful gemstone, and it’s thoughtful English definitions support and embellish Kinship’s Families and Friends purpose, focus, and desires. It may be the shortest month of our calendar but it is really overloaded with 149 special worldwide holidays and celebrations.
The title “February” comes from the Roman festival of purification called “Februa” during which people were ritually washed. We may not have ritual washing’s but we do honor “love” on Valentine’s day, presidents, random acts of kindness, National Freedom day, National Freedom to Marry Day, and the World Day of Social Justice.
Also the beautiful Amethyst gemstone radiates from a soft gentle purple to a brilliant powerful violet. It is revered in numerous healing benefits including calming energy, improved sleeping, mental clarity and spiritual connections. Humankind has been using those various emotional colors for thousands of years in bracelets, necklaces, ear and finger rings, crowns, and colorful artwork. Oh we know our SDA roots may cringe at wearing beautiful jewelry but hopefully we can enjoy the uplifting, calming, and spiritual colors flowing from amethyst gemstones.
February also means humility, spiritual wisdom, sincerity and piety. Again these are all meaningful terms the Kinship Families & Friends support and, hopefully, share in our connections and gatherings. We strive to being humble and safe to share with. Jesus was a very humble person. He did not judge or reject anyone including those against him. Carolyn and I strive to be like Him as we connect and share with anyone asking about family rainbow members.
We also see many biblical examples of spiritual wisdom in the many times Jesus and His disciples interacted with everyone around them sharing friendship and acceptance. They, and hopefully, we are always sincere in our discussions and connections. Our families can grow and support all their rainbow members with the tools and gems of February.
