Happiest of Holidays!

Happiest of Holidays!

As 2018 comes to a close and we get ready for a brand new start in 2019, I want to express my gratitude to all who have made Kinship’s progress possible this year. Many of us contribute to our progress by generously giving the best of ourselves through our time, talents and funds. I like to quote this snippet from Generous Life, Increasing Your Joy Through Giving by the Fetzer Institute.

“Generosity -- our ability to offer the best of who we are and what we have for the benefit of one another -- is perhaps our most valuable human attribute. In fact, it may be the singular quality we possess that has the capacity to transform the world.”

Many non-profit year-end letters are for the express purpose of raising funds to accomplish the goals and projects that are ongoing throughout the year. There are several Kinship projects that need your support.

We’re producing a documentary about Kinship. The first segment covers Kinship’s history and the early years of the Adventist LGBTI community. We hope to show the first segment of this documentary at Kampmeeting in Oregon this coming July. We also plan three more segments that will lead viewers to what Kinship is today and what we envision Kinship will be in the future. Interviews have begun and we’re so excited about it!

Our PATH project is slowly moving forward so that Kinship can provide an online tool to educate pastors, church leaders and others who wish to become more knowledgeable about our community. We need a project manager so that we can produce modules that individuals can access in the comfort and privacy of their own homes or offices. We even want to include several live webinars so discussions can take place and questions can be answered in real time.

As always we continue with our other retreats, trainings, conferences, pride events and parades, publications, our website, and social media to connect our members around the world! But we can’t make the difference in the world we want to without your generous donations, skills, and time.

Currently, we have several open positions and others coming up for election in July. Those of us in leadership positions right now desperately need your help today! Here is a list of positions that need you: Director of Development, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Church Relations, Director-At-Large, and Member Services Team Member.

What can we count on from you as we move into 2019?

All the best and in Kinship,

Yolanda Elliott
