MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

WRITE YOUR OWN SCRIPT

Growing up, we are all given a script. We rarely realize it, but it is a part of our upbringing from our parents and our church “family.” Scripts give us security and a sense of direction. Mostly, life scripts are a good thing and keep us safe. They are necessary.

Unfortunately, scripts are not one-size-fits-all. They help to ground us and help us navigate through life. At some point, we realize that the script was written by someone else—by someone who doesn't know our innermost selves. Scripts mold us into what others want us to be. Although the scriptwriters have good intentions, the script is actually written for them and their hopes and wishes for us.

When the age of accountability comes, we often realize that our script no longer fits us. Some people spend the rest of their lives trying to live by the script that others impose on them. God came to let us know we can change the script and truly make it our script, one that fits our lives and needs. When we do this, God is with us, helping us to write the new script. We do not need to be stuck. Our lives and our futures are in our hands to shape into what truly works for our lives.

SDA Kinship is here to help you gain the courage and tools to be who you are and not be who someone else wants you to be. For some, this may sound like blasphemy; but If God is truly worth being called God, then God only wants the best for you. No matter your age or where you are in life, it is not too late to rewrite your script to best fit your life and be the very best version of you.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Let me know what SDA Kinship can do to help you with re-writing your script. Make your life, your script, one that actually fits your existence and your needs.

You are loved unconditionally,
