KinNet Electronic Chapter

What is KinNet?

KinNet is Seventh-day Adventist Kinship International's (Kinship) electronic online (web-based) discussion forum for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender and their friends who are current or former members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Messages are available on-line and are private in the sense that they may only be accessed by KinNet members. Only KinNet members may participate in this group.

Purposes of KinNet
1) To encourage contact between SDA Kinship members worldwide and to foster a spirit of "kinship" and social interaction via electronic mail for members not able to attend local Kinship functions.

2) To supply information on what is happening with Seventh-day Adventist Kinship. We can handle requests for literature pertaining to gay aspects of life and interaction with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

3) To discuss practical issues of relevance to the Adventist Kinship subculture and the world in general.

4) Announcements of gatherings and conferences of interest to the Christian Gay community.

5) To discuss issues in human relations.
How to become a member of KinNet?

You may choose to use the very convenient KinNet membership request form to submit your request for membership.  The form contains both the required information as well as space for the additional information that members have shared with the group.  If you choose not to use the form, you may send a short bio or intro to kinnet@sdakinship.org to subscribe.  This information should include but not be limitedto: Real Name or Pseudonym if you wish to use one;  Address; Occupation; Hobbies & Interests; Birth date (mm/dd/yy); "Out" status; and Phone Number.  This information will be kept confidential for the KinNet Coordinator only.

Because KinNet is a closed and confidential list, each individual wanting to join must be verified by the listowner. KinNet is a discussion and fellowship group created especially for members of Seventh-day Adventist Kinship. The group consists of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender individuals. This information is required to verify you are who you say you are. It will be kept in the strictest of confidence with the KinNet Coordinator.
