Meet Denise Proulx, one of the deaf members of Kinship, who has been a member since 1997 and has attended Kampmeeting seven times. She is also an avid quilter. As those of you who attend Kampmeeting know, Kinship has always provided a signing interpreter for Denise. This year, her eighth summer to attend Kampmeeting, Denise wants to "give back" to Kinship by donating a beautiful quilt that she is working on (see below) to be used as a fundraiser through selling raffle tickets for it.
Denise writes, "The purpose
of this fundraiser is that I wanted to help
Kinship with the cost of the interpreter fees
when I need an interpreter at some of the workshops
and especially during the Sabbath worship service,
which is the highlight of my week at Kampmeeting.
The only way I could think of was to donate
my own handmade quilted lap blanket for selling
off through a raffle to earn money to help
with my interpreter fees. The theme of the
quilt is 'Woven Rainbow Lap Blanket.' I
thought these rainbow stripes would be perfect
to sew into woven blocks, as these rainbow
symbols are related to Kinship."

Thus, Kinship is offering Kinship
members an opportunity to participate in this
raffle for Denise's beautiful "Woven
Rainbow Lap Blanket" for only
$10 per ticket. The quilt will be
on display at Kampmeeting. You may purchase
any
number of tickets at any time during Kampmeeting
week, and you may purchase tickets in advance
online (see link below). Remember,
the more tickets you buy, the greater your
chance of winning! The drawing for
the quilt will be held on Saturday night of
Kampmeeting (July 19, 2008) at the Talent Show.
