Campus Outreach Opportunities

If you are interested in helping to develop a Gay/Straight Alliance or in identifying and designating "safe" places for LGBTIQ students on your campus, please send email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Kinship is working to help create an official "Safe Place" program on Adventist campuses, at least in the North American Division. This means that there would be designated faculty on each campus who would be open and supportive to Kinship members.

Several campuses currently have "unofficial" programs and there are several campuses that have started "unofficial" Gay Straight Alliance programs. As we prepare for the coming school year, we are seeking to establish relationships with faculty on as many campuses as possible, who are interested in participating in the Safe Place program or serving as faculty sponsors for a GSA program. We are gathering information from as many campuses as possible.

If you are attending an Adventist College or University and are aware of either a Safe Place program or a GSA, please contact Dave Ferguson or Terry Rice ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), who are working on this project.

We would also be happy to have you help get a program started on your campus. Because the programs are currently "unofficial", there has been no contact between those involved on various campuses. We want to change that. We hope to have a Webex conversation with all Kinship members who are involved on their campus within the next month. We will also be planning Webex conversations with faculty members as soon as possible after school begins.
